Some personal photos from our weekend at Lake Naverone, where we were snowed in for the weekend. We were meant to stay for only one night, but it became clear on our first morning there that our car was not going to make it out.

It was a tough weekend for so many, which is why it’s taken me so long to share these photos. For us though, It was just the best, and exactly what our little family needed. We had no electricity and no signal - which meant no phones!! I loved being disconnected from everyone and everything. I know that if I’d been aware of what other people were going through on the roads, my mind would have been completely consumed with their stories and not present in my own.

It’s scary how often I reach for my phone. For no real reason except to check. Check for WhatsApps and emails. Check the time. Check my calendar. Check my notifications.

It was a lesson I clearly needed, and for which I’m grateful.

Although I’ve gone the route of primarily shooting families and weddings, I’ve always done a bit of product and brand photography too. I’ve invested in some great lighting equipment and I’m excited to start developing this branch of my business into something bigger.
