Under the Jacarandas
In Alice’s own words…
“For the past six years I have served Inanda Seminary. For any of you who have followed my journey, you will know that it is an incredible place. Not only is the campus an extraordinary oasis in the heard of Inanda Township, but the well-rounded women that it releases into the world have gone on to become incredible citizens. The more that I learn about this school, it’s alumnae and the staff who have served here, the more I think that we underestimate it’s influence on our country. And yet, there are so many in Durban who are unaware of it’s existence and legacy; a real hidden treasure.”
Alice feels that she and her family have been called to move onto other things, and thus her time with Inanda Seminary and the surrounding community has come to an end. They wanted to honour their time spent here with a family photo shoot. Both Alice and Lleal’s babies were born during their time here. They even experienced lockdown on campus, spending hours under the jacaranda and marula trees.
I hope that these photos convey the love they have for this place and it’s people.
